This is the “hard mode” view: you pay a drain, then you decide how much you can convert into advantage. Values shown are U = -Drain + α·Gain(mode) (higher is better). Asset if U > 0.

If the table is negative, you’re paying more than you’re converting. If positive, Mercy is an asset in that posture.

What this means in practice

The “Mercy intimidation” line is not magical thinking. It’s a constraint satisfaction problem: maximize r (leave mana unused on purpose), cast Mercy when the opponent overcommits, and ensure your post-Mercy turn is still functional.

If you want to “go all in repeatedly”, you must be able to do it while carrying tempo debt.
